calls for entries
The Poetry Society of Virginia announces its annual poetry contest which offers prizes for work entered in 11 categories.
Seven categories are open to aD writers, two open only to members, and one open only to college students.
Categories include the sonnet, the lyric, free verse, traditional verse, the dramatic poem, a humorous poem, a limerick and a poem on the sea. The limit is one entry per person in each category, with the exception that secondary school students may submit up to three entries for the category open to them. Prizes range from $25 to $100.
A Jan. 31, 1986 deadline for entries has been set. Winners will be announced at an swards luncheon at the University of Virginia <m March 15,1986.
