The varsity team will face Tara Reston and Word of Life School in home games this week.
The Wakefield girls’ volleyball team traveled to Randolph Macon Academy in Front Royal for the seventh game of the team’s first season. In the match, Wakefield took the first game 15-11, but dropped the next three 15-13, 15-10 and 15-8 respectively to lose the match 3-1. Coach Cindy Baker viewed the team’s performance as good. “They were playing well as a team,” she added.
Later in the week, the Wakefield team played Emmanuel Christian School in Manassas. Wakefield lost the match, 3-0, losing 15-5 each game.
There remain only two more games on the 1985 volleyball schedule. The team will play Tara Reston at home and travel to Word of Life School for the final game of the season. The Delaney Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 2 at Emmanuel School in Manassas.
