“They’ve (Hitt and Grave) admitted that they won’t be able to meet the time limit in this application,” Kramer said. “And a wrecker with a car on the back would not be something I’d want to meet on that road.”
The board could not make any of the four findings necessary before a special use permit can be granted, so the permit was denied.
The board did approve a special use permit application submitted by Elaine Viguerie. The permit will allow Viguerie to use a farm and farm house on Route 615 in Castleton for a cooking school and boarding house.
Viguerie said not more than 10 people time will be. accommodated at the school and the participants will be transported to the farm for a week’s stay to study the preparation of whole grain natural foods.
The permit was granted with the condition that Viguerie present a health department letter certifying that the farm’s septic system will handle the proposed use.
