Gerald Baliles has reached out at a variety of functions into the 7th District. In August at the Madison County Farm Bureau picnic, he stressed the need for a strong economy and quality education.
At a reception of local Democrats in Madison, he said that he believed that education and economic growth are bound together and an educated work forceps the basis for economic growth.
“We are now in the top 15 states in creating new jobs,” Baliles told the gathering. “The question is whether we rest upon that progress or go forward. I believe the times require us to build on that progress and stimulate our agricultural industry and find new ways to promote employment.”
Baliles told the gathering at the Farm Bureau’s annual picnic that he understands the importance of the farm economy to counties like Madison. “I support a strong economy, a right to work law, a balanced budget and education,” he said in summarizing his stance on positions.
