Miss Virginia Gordon Dickey of Huntly and Charles Lewis Silliman, Jr. of Moorefield, West Virginia were married Saturday, August 18 at 4 p.m. in the chapel of Wakefield Manor, the bride’s home.
The bride is the daughter of Col. and Mrs. Robert R. Dickey III of Huntly. The groom is the son of Lt. Col. and Mrs. Charles L. Silliman of Moorefield.
The Rev. John R. Anschutz performed the double ring ceremony. The Fairfax Dominion String Quartet provided music.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore her mother’s wedding gown of white silk organdy and argentella point lace over duchess taffeta. The shirred portrait neckline and the bell shaped skirt, which ended in a court train, were appliqued in garlands of matching lace. ■’Her fingertip veil of French silk illusion fell from a cap of lace and seed pearls and she carried a free flow bouquet with, rubrum Lillies, white sweetheart roses, white dendrobian orchids, stephanotis, fern and cascading spider plants.
Miss Catharine C. Dickey, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a pastel blue taffeta long dress with portrait neckline and full skirt. She carried a bouquet of rubrum lillies, philadendron and cascading spider plants and wore matching flowers in her hair.
