Meadow it will be a 3V«-mile timber race.
Although it will be the inaugural meet for the new race course, and thus an historic and memorable occasion, the fall meet is actually just a primer for the Virginia Gold Cup which will be held at Great Meadow the first Saturday in May, 1986.
For Mr. Arundel and the Gold Cup committee it will be the culmination of many years of hard work and the realization of a dream.
“It’s my fondest hope,” said Mr. Arundel, “that Great Meadow will live up to the high standards and great tradition set over the past 60 years at Broadview and its predecessor courses.”
