Prior to the meet patrons and sponsors of the races will be able to go foxhunting with the Piedmont Hunt on Saturday and the Middleburg-Orange County Beagles on Sunday. Hunt breakfasts will be given after both hunts before the races begin.
On the first day of racing there will be two claiming races, one for non-winners of two, a maiden race for three-year-olds and one for older horses, an allowance race and a non-winners of two race. All the races will be at two miles over hurdles except the allowance which will be over 2 Vi miles.
If any race on the card is not filled the substitute race will be 11 vi-mile turf race for three-year-olds and up with a $1,000 purse.
On Sunday, Oct. 7, the first two races are three miles over timber, one for maidens.
Hie third race is a rider opportunity race for three-year-olda and up who are non-winners of five sanctioned races. Riders who have not won a sanctioned race will be allowed seven pounds. This is a 1 Vi- mile turf race with a $1,000 purse.
A maiden two-mile turf race for three-year-olds and up follows with a purse of $1,000. Amateur riders are acceptable in this race.
