powers between the states and the national government. It has stood the test of time. It is the oldest written Constitution still in use in the World.

It has upheld the principles of freedom and liberty throughout our branches of government for 197 years. Having first served a nation of 13 weak states along the Atlantic, it now serves a great nation of 50 states stretching from the Atlantic to the Pacific. Many other newer Republics have adopted ideas from our Constitution.

We observe this 197th anniversary week of the signing of our Constitution with pride and patriotism.
