The fifth and sixth races are IV'* miles on the turf for three-year-olds and up, one being for maidens, with purses of $1,000.
The substitute race will be a $3,000 hurdle for non-winners of two, four-yearolds and up. Amateur riders are acceptable for this three-mile race.

Morven Park Races
The fifth annual Morven Park Races, offering $25,000 in purses, will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the estate of the late Virginia Gov. Westmoreland Davis.
The feature race of the day is a $10,000 allowance race at 2Vi miles over hurdles. The theme for the Morven Park races will be a salute to the Virginia thoroughbred breeding industry, and sponsors include the Maryland National Bank, Moet Chardon Champagne and the Dowdy Group. A special award will also be given to the groom of the best turnedout horse for each race.
