Fifty-two fire and rescue personnel, deputies and police officers participated in the Flint Hill seminar to become familiar with the helicopter and its uses.
There are five senior nurses and five EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) paramedics included in the Pegasus crew. “Louis Jenkins of Madison County Rescue Squad is now a paramedic for Pegasus,” Thorson said.
The crew has extensive aeromedical and safety training that includes cardiac, trauma, bum and pediatric emergency care. One paramedic and one nurse fly with the helicopter at all times, and a physician can be contacted by radio if needed.
