Mrs. Woodruff Kearns spoke on Honoring the Statue of Liberty. She gave the history of the Statue, its structure and its original cost, as well as plans for the restoration and rededication in 1966 on its 100th anniversary. Mrs. Kearns emphasised the importance of our financial support of the restoration of the Statue of Liberty. Liberty Love Day for the Culpeper Minute Men chapter members will be February 14, 1966, when all contributions for this restoration will be received. Mrs. Kearns ended her program by singing excerpts from Irvin Berlin’s “Miss liberty”.
