Jeff Teter, the 21-year-old Unionville, Pa., native, holds a four-length lead over Jerry Fishback in the jockey standings as of Sept. 13, with 10 wins to his credit. Bemie Houghton is next with nine wins over fences.
In the trainer ranks, Jonathan Sheppard jumped into first place after winning six of eight steeplechases at Saratoga. Janet Elliot has 15 jump wins, Frank Raquet 14, Ronnie Houghton eight and Burley Cocks seven.
Apparently these titles will be decided at the last few race meetings this fall.
