Bruce Wagner on Mi Caballo stalked the leader ahead of the others to finish in place over Kirk Griggs on his Steve Canyon. Uncle Edwin got the closest of the others, but Netherby, Deify, Heart of the Desert, Flasher, Sugar Bee and Midnight Decision were all left in the winner’s wake. The summer scene shifted to Saratoga, N. Y., with a revamped jumping schedule. NYRA carded one jumping race on each Thursday and Friday of the month-long Saratoga meeting and with much success.
