Move over Miss Manners. It’s time to monopolize the soapbox momentarily for a few doe and don’ts about the venerable tradition of tailgating, that chic form of entertainment performed at every steeplechase meet in Virginia.
Now, dear reader, lest you be among the uninitiated, let me tell you that tailgating is a social art form. It involves eating, drinking, chitchatting, seeing and, most importantly, bong seen.
Now there are some who come to a race meet, plop down on the tailgate of a pickup, slosh down a Michelob or two or three or four and gnaw on a KFC drumstick.
