Internationally known environmentalist John Seed was among a group of ecologists camped in Rappahannock during the past two weeks for Earthstory, a series of workshops, seminars and information sharing coordinated locally by Hunt Harris of Huntly.
Several dozen activists from around the country spent all or part of the 12 day session camped at the Birds’ Fodderstack Road farm, participating in events such as “The Council of All Beings,” “Gender and Deep Ecology,” “Reweaving the Web,” a hike up White Oak Canyon, and training for environmental education facilitators.
About 75 people attended a talk by Mr. Seed at the Rappahannock Library, and he said 17 signed up for a new county rainforest action group.
