Hamilton, the catalyst behind getting pari-mutuel to the Morven Park race.
It was through Dr. Rogers’ efforts that Loudoun County residents passed the pari-mutuel referendum to begin with, and it, was also the doctor’s efforts that helped form the Morven Park committee that pushed through betting at the Morven Park track.
Other members of the Morven Park Race Committee are: J. Hamilton Lambert, the former county executive of Fairfax County; Edward A. Maurer, executive director of the Westmoreland Davis Memorial Foundation; William J. McDonald, an ex-newspaperman who handled community, legislative and public relations for Shenandoah Downs, developer Milton Ritzenberg and numerous volunteers.
A crowd of about 15,000 spectators is expected to attend the Leesburg race meet.
