School night for Scouting
Boys and their parents are invited to Rappahannock Elementary at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 19. During this meeting, the parents and boys will learn about their local Cub Scout Pack and have an opportunity to register with the Pack. A boy can join Tiger Cubs if he is in th«j first grade. The Tiger Cub program is for a boy and one adult member of his family. The Cub Scout program is for boys in the second thru fifth grades and not yet 11 years old.
Workshop planned
Dr. Denise Horton Hershkowitz, Ph.D., will offer an evening, workshop for area mothers entitled “Handling the Stresses of Motherhood: Juggling Multiple Roles.” Sponsored by the Mothering Coop-; erative, in an effort to meet the needs of working mothers as well a» at-home moms, the talk will be held at 7 p.m. at the Child Care and Learning Center, Sept. 25. Flea market, car wash
A flea market and car wash will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21 in front of Rappahannock High. This event is sponsored jointly by RCHS Yearbook Club and RCES PTO. Baked goods will also be available. Car washes cost $3 per car or donation.
Mother's gathering
The September Mother’s Gathering will be held at 11:30 a.m.,! Thursday, Sept. 19 at Rappahannock Park. Interested mothers and| their families are welcome to come and share in the Mothering Cooper-1 ative’s potluck luncheon. A discussion at 12:30 will be entitled “Where We’ve Come and Where We’re Going: A Look at the Mothering Coop-1 erative’s Future." A $2 donation is requested by non-members. !
