tury European nativity pageant entitled “The Shepherds Play.”
It is a traditional nativity play with live music, dialogue, characters and singing. It was originally performed by farmers and their families at Christmas.
In keeping with this tradition, auditions will be held, under the auspices of Ki Theatre, to draw a cast of 25 characters from singers, and musicians (string and wind instruments) and community members. The play will be rehearsed throughout the fall, and four performances are planned during Colonial Christmas weekend.
Those auditioning will read from script materials provided the day of the audition. The director is Julie Portman, and music will be directed by Trapezoid’s Martha Sandefer. For audition details call Ki Theatre at 9873164.
