Responding to attacks from Democrats that his General Assembly record has been less-than-notable, Del. Allen listed several legislative projects he has completed.

He first introduced a measure to convert the assets of convicted drug dealers to law enforcement agencies in 1986, and although the Democratic state legislature pre-empted it and put a similar version, on the statewide ballot last fall (it passed overwhelmingly), he initiated the whole process and spent his own resources pushing for the ballot item around the state. In fact, he said, he spoke before the Rappahannock Lions Club at the School House Restaurant in Flint Hill on the subject last year.
