If one is ultra-liberal, it would appear that he or she is all of the above, in spades.
“Conservative—disposed to preserve existing conditions, institutions, etc., or to restore traditional ones, and to limit change . . . cautiously moderate or purposefully low.”
While the dictionary gives no synonyms for conservative, it would seem to be appropriate (since conservative is opposed to liberal) to use liberal’s antonyms for this purpose. Thus, the synonyms for conservative should be: “reactionary, intolerant, niggardly.”
