Fall is upon us, and so is the 1991 election season. A special program featuring many of the candidates for offices affecting Rappahannock will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21, at the Child Care and Learning Center. All candidates for major offices have been invited, and several confirmed.
Candidates Jerry Wood and Robert Darby, running for the 31st District seat in the state House of Delegates, have agreed to participate in the event, sponsored by the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP).
Margaret Haynes, Democratic candidate for the 25th District state Senate seat, has also agreed to participate in the candidates’ forum. Her opponent, Republican incumbent Sen. Kevin Miller, had not responded by press time.
Neither of the candidates for the 26th Senatorial District are able to attend: Ed Robb and Thomas Michie.
The candidates for the 7th District Congressional race, Kay Slaughter and George Allen, have also been invited, and may be able to attend.
