The Culpeper Minute Men Chapter, NSDAR, met at the Culpeper Methodist Church on Sept. 10 with the Regent, Mrs. Thomas Eastham presiding.
Mrs. Edgar F. Puryear Jr. presented the National Defense Report which stressed that Sept. 17 is the 204th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution and that Dec. 15, Bill of Rights Day, will be the 200th anniversary of the adoption of the first ten amendments to the Constitution. Many states refused to ratify the Constitution without personal guarantees. The basis for these amendments was the Virginia Bill of Rights, authored by George Mason.
