Mrs. Sharp said the course lets parents know “they are not alone and their child is not unlike other children.”

Topics for the next several months include: stress of parenting, developmentally appropriate activities for pre-school children, nutrition and development for infants to five years, childproofing the home, language developmertt of the preschooler, discipline and behavior management of young children and others.

“If the group shows an interest in a topic,” then a new topic will be added to the list, said Mrs. Sharp

CCLC was one of the few c aycare centers in the state to rec' ive funding for this program.

The course is made available to the school through a grant from Virginia Family Violence Prevention.
