The candidates’ forum is open to all interested persons. Candidates will give short prepared statements, and then answer questions from the audience. It is expected that an emphasis will be placed on environmental issues facing this area, but all other campaign issues are also subjects for discussion.

RLEP was organized in 1970 to fight a proposed powerline planned to cut through the county. It was successful in that engagement, and went on to develop into a multi-issue conservation organization, dedicated to protection of natural resources and encouragement of responsible growth policies.

RLEP regularly monitors local government meetings, and works with local officials on matters of public concern.

Membership is open to anyone who wishes to support the goads of the organization; a regular newsletter is published for the membership.

For more information about the candidates’ forum or RLEP, please call 987-3155.

The Child Care and Learning Center is located on U.S. 211-522, just west of Washington.

Refreshments will be served.
