Mr. Darby was graduated m 1959 from the U.S. Naval Academy, left the Navy in 1967 and held positional with Bath Iron Works as a project engineer (1967-71), as principal consultant with Harbridge House Inc. (1971-76) and vice president of Ad-; vanced Technology Inc. (1976-87).

He has served as vice chairman of the Friends of the Rappahannock Library, fundraising advisor of the Windmore Foundation, steering committee member of the Fauquier Chapter of Habitat for Humanity and a member of the selection committee for the Rappahannock High math, science and engineering schol-* arship.

He is also an active elder in the Warrenton Presbyterian Church. *

He formerly lived in Bellevue Subdivision, between Warrenton and Marshall on Old Waterloo Road.
