The Windrow Galleries opened its doors to the public on Sept. 14, providing Front Royal with its only professional art gallery.
Patricia Windrow, owner and operator of Windrow Galleries, and an award winning painter, said “It 1s surprising that an area as beautiful as Front Royal has had no full-time exhibition space until now.
“I expect to exhibit my own work as well as that of invited artists. I hope to have up to eight exhibitions a year as well as occasional performing events such as concerts and readings,” she said.
Ms. Windrow and her husband, Howard Klein, the former director for arts at the Rockefeller Foundation in New York, bought and renovated the former Scott Hardware building at 401 East Main St.
They converted it into a large gallery space, a studio, and two apartments. The studio will be used for classes of up to eight adult students per class.
