According to the Greenville, S.C. Daily News, “Paul Reisler of Trapezoid is certainly a leader among those who blend the categories, who redefine eclectic or take eclectic to new, wonderful territories.”
“Hawk” was co-produced by Mr. Reisler and Bob Read, who is also a member of Trapezoid. Joining Mr. Reisler, who plays hammer dulcimers and electric guitars on this recording are, Mr. Read on piano; Cheryl Hurwitz, violin; Robert Jospe on drums and log drums; and Peter Prince playing fretless bass.
Trapezoid’s most recent recording for Narada, “Moon Run,” was released last year. It features a collection original instrumentals and songs, along with a few traditional pieces arranged by the group. The Washington Post said, “ ‘Moon’ climbs up the Blue Ridge and down to the bayou and back up the Himalayas.”
“Childhood Remembered” and “Moon Run” are available on cassette and compact disc, at Country Heritage, Cabin Fever Books, and Mountainside Market in Washington, Va., at New Leaf Books and Waxie Maxie’s in Warrenton and in most record stores.
