Lamb cooperative
holds first meeting
The Virginia Lamb Cooperative, one of whose organizers resides in Flint Hill, will be holding pre-membership meetings at 2 p.m. Sept. 21 at Jefferson Savings and Loan on Main Street in Culpeper and at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21 at Blue Ridge Community College in Weyers Cave.
Linda Dietel, who raises Polypay sheep at Over Jordan Farm in Flint Hill, is one of the new group’s organizers.
The aim of the cooperative is to sell guaranteed quality Virginia lamb carcasses or boxed meats di* rectly to buyers for supermarkets, and other retail outlets.
Initially the group plans to market in the Washington, D.C. area.
