Security withholding cuts.
“Without saying more,” said Del. Allen, that consists of a “fairly irresponsible statement.” He voiced concern that such a cut would undermine the soundness of the Social Security Trust Fund.
He called it “distorted bookkeeping.”
“It sounds wonderful but it’s not responsible in that it could very well harm the actuarial soundness of the Social Security Trust Fund," he charged.
On other issues, Del. Allen said he opposes a proposed bill in Congress that would force employers to hire back striking workers and supports a line-item veto for President Bush.
