Washington, Va.’s Sixth Annual Colonial Christmas is a time to share our colonial roots with one another.
Although it may seem early to be planning for Christmas, one of the events this year is a play that will feature area residents in the large cast, and auditions take place in the Old Town Hall on Gay Street in Washington, £ p.m.-4 p.m. Sept. 29 and 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Sept. 30.
When rich traditions and quaint charm of historic Washington come to life on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8, with candlelight tours, open houses at the shops and bed and breakfasts, colonial dancing in our “new” Town Hall, entertainment at the “old” Town Hall, craft demonstrations, and, of course, colonial menu’s on both days at the local restaurants.
First person “character” and historic tours will take visitors and locals alike through the streets, to show off our proud heritage. Strolling carollers will bring back memories of Christmases past, or create new traditions.
