On the current issue of how localities will be able to get rid of septage now that it is no longer legal to spread it on land, Mr. Wood said he wanted to do more research before taking a stand. “For health reaspps I'm opposed to openly spreading it,” he said. He added he did not expect much help from the state for upgrading sewer systems to handle septage. :
Mr. Wood said he supports the state’s "right to work” law and the death penalty. He believes “in the right to bear arms” and thinks the current law requiring instant criminal background checks on gun purchasers is working and should be left alone.
Mr. Wood said if he is elected Jie would like to serve on the budget and finance committees but realizes that the members of those committees have years of seniority in th*1 legislature. He said with his background he would hope to be appointed to the Health, Welfare and Institutions Committee.
