The Child Care and Learning Center (CCLC) is offering a monthly program on effective parenting.

The free one-hour course, offered at 7 p.m. on each second Thursday for the next eight months, is held at the school on U.S. 211-522 at Washington, Va.

There are no texts, no charge. Handouts, if necessary, are provided by the center.

Guest speakers relating to specific topics will speak.

“We hope to be able to have some discussion and, in the end, develop a parental support group,” CCLC executive director Rose Ann Sharp said, adding this group provides a way for “parents to get to know other parents, to share ideas and stories.”
