Trapezoid, the
nationally acclaimed
musical group based in Rappahannock County, has recently had one of their compositions released on Narada/MCA Records. “Hawk,” written by Trapezoid’s founder Paul Reisler, appears on “A Childhood Remembered.”
The pieces on this collection of instrumentals by various Narada recording artists were all inspired by stories from childhood.
According to Mr. Reisler, “Narada has had great success with their thematic samplers. These collections feature special booklets with beautiful art work relating to each piece. The ‘Narada Wilderness Collection,’ which was released last year and includes a composition of mine written while trekking in Nepal, has sold several hundred thousand copies already and has been near the top of the charts since its release.”
“ ‘Hawk’ was inspired by two different experiences,” said Mr. Reisler. “I wrote the original theme for the score of‘Hawk, I’m your Brother,’ which I perform in my work with Julie Portman of Ki Theatre. I expanded the theme into the instrumental, ‘Hawk,’ after coming upon a baby turkey vulture in an abandoned house in Gid Brown Hollow.
