Whatever the reason, more and more people are returning to the International Gold Cup Races year after year. During the race’s inaugural running at Great Meadow in 1984, only 8,000 attended, but each year the crowds have steadily grown. Last year almost 20,000 people ventured to Great Meadow’s grassy hillsides for the October race.
There are many ways to enjoy the International Gold Cup Races, from the simple general adimssion area where a car pass will admit up to six people, to lavish entertainment tents within a few yards of the finish stretch. Packages are available for individuals as w'ell as corporations and you can pack your own lunch or enjoy elegant dining complete with fine china and silver.
