Just as the days become noticeably shorter, the foliage begins to turn varying hues of red and gold, and the air becomes a bit cripser, folks in Virginia’s hunt country shake out their seaters and tweeds and the autumn steeplechase season begins.
For some, going to the steeplechase races is part of a weekly routine, just as it was for their parents and grandparents, although fall steeplechase racing is a relatively new occurrence.
