Last Saturday Warrenton’s fine art enthusiasts were treated to the opening of a new gallery on Main Street guaranteed to please collectors, especially those with an affection for the Virginia landscape and the Civil War.
The Tharpe Collection, located at 2b Main St. at the site of the former Loveladies Antiques, opened its doors for a public preview featuring the works of well-known artists.
The exhibition, entitled “Scenes of Virginia,” offers the works by Civil War artists Julian Scott, James Walker, James Hope and Capt. John Faye, an added bonus for regional collectors and history buffs.
