Reisler, who has a degree in music composition and theory from George Washington University, has taught workshops all across the country. He just completed an album of original instrumentals, with Bob Read of the Bruce Hornsby Band, called “The Peace of Wild Things” which will be released later this year.
Reisler is currently composing a children’s symphony based on Aesop’s Fables with Tom Paxton and an album of songs with Quarto.
According to Reisler, there is more to songwriting than just putting down words and music and aiming for a receptive market. He believes that “the words are in the music and the music is in the words. They each need to say the exact same thing” to express the image that the song evokes.
