John Hamilton Williams, 89, of Washington died Thursday, Sept. 11 in Warrenton.
Mr. Williams was born April 12, 1908 in Rappahannock County. He was the fourth child of nine siblings of the late John Lovel and Lou Emma Sloan Williams.
He is survived by one sister Susan Lafayette Williams of Montclair, N.J.; a foster brother Lewis S. Butler Sr. of Washington; one niece Ann Sanford of Philadelphia, Pa.; one nephew James T. Williams Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; a devoted cousin Beatrice W. Webb of Emporia, Va. and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Williams was a brick and stone mason by trade.
He graduated from Hampton University, Hampton, Va. in 1928. He attended Virginia I State College now University in Petersburg, Va, the University of Pennsylvania and Temple University in Philadelphia. He received a certificate from Manna Bible College. He also received a certificate for reading the Bible through three years in succession. He graduated from Lord Fairfax
