Ussery said her first line of defense against the symptoms was a “microbiotic diet,” high in grains and vegetables.
“Foods you eat alter your body chemistry and herbs are a food. They help you balance your body.”
A sufferer of chronic fatigue syndrome, Ussery has recently begun to take licorice to treat it. She says it’s too early to judge its effectiveness.
“I was looking for something that would work. Doctor’s couldn’t help,” she said.
