terminals enter the correct information on the screen, allowing the letter to be sorted along with the barcoded mail. All of the barcoded mail is sorted to a number of bins that may represent a specific Zip Code, post office or even you letter carrier’s route.

The processed mail is then sent to the appropriate destination, perhaps another state, another country, or to the post office in town so that it can be delivered right to your door.

It may travel by land, or by air or even by mule if you happen to live at the bottom of the Grand Canyon.

But no matter how it travels, rest assured that there were many dedicated postal employees who helped ensure a safe trip all along the way.
