Doug Baumgardner, moderator for the upcoming Headwaters Education Foundation Plans Forum, met With Raye Tupper, Rhppahannock County Elementary School principal, Katherine Treanor, fteadwaters representative, Phil Bailey, Washington Baptist Church minister, and several other parents on Thursday, Sept. 19, to make plans for the forum. They hope for a large turnout to discover parents concerns and set goals. The event will be held at the elementary school on Friday, Sept, 26, at 7 p.m. Originally it was to have been held at Rappahannock High School but damage to the school’s auditorium by rains necessitated the forum be held elsewhere. Speakers will be Judy Tole, Michelle Hynes of the Public Education Network, Mary Ann Biggs, assistant superintendent of the Rappahannock schools, and Glen Burdick, superintendent of the Winchester City schools which includes privately endowed Handley High School. A short presentation by each speaker will be followed by small group question and answer sessions. Each group will return with a summary of their discussion. The RCHS band will perform under the direction of Cecil Scott and refreshments will follow the program.
