Award winning portrait artists, instructor, and illustrator Ned Bittinger will conduct a twelve week figure drawing class at Shimmering Meadows Farm Studio, Slate Mills, on Thursdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. The fall session will run from Oct. 2 through Dec. 18.
The figure drawing instruction will stress methods for determining proportion, angles of pose, and value. Weekly demonstrations will be presented. A variety of media, papers, and approaches including: compressed charcoal, conte crayon, graphite, and white chalk on gray paper, will be shown. Working from the model, students will begin with short warm-up sketches, then proceed to longer, more detailed drawings. This class is designed for all drawing levels.
