Horton and her two colleagues at the center, Maya White Sparks and Laura Skauge often take their clients for a “vision quest” or “personal retreat.”

“It’s two to three days of meditation, prayers, ceremonies and rituals,” explained Horton. They live under a tarp, often fast and undergo training on how to take care of themselves spiritually and physically in a natural surrounding.”

People benefit a lot from spiritual healing, said Horton. “They come out more centered, more certain, more calm, less lost and more focussed,” she said.
