Two internationally known musicians return to The Theatre at Washington, Va., to give a recital entitled “The Romantic Quest in Song,” on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m.
Soprano Amanda Balestrieri and fortepianist Kenneth Slowik perform music of Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, and Schubert.
English-bom soprano Balestrieri was educated at Oxford University, London’s Royal Academy of Music, and in Milan, Italy. She toured in Europe with the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields and was involved in the soundtrack recording for the film Amadeus.
Since moving to the ^Washington, D.C., area, she has appeared frequently with the Smithsonian Chamber Players and many other ensembles.
