ine town council issued a Request for Proposal (RFP) earlier this year. The RFF asked companies to submit plans and cost estimates for them to evaluate the wastewater disposal systems in town and recommend solutions to the problems.
Some of the most promising solutions include environmentally friendly “living machine” technology, artificial wetlands, small scale package treatment plants, and duckweed lagoons. In mid-to- late October following the survey, the Virginia Department Jef Environmental Quality add the WWSC will sponsor a public seminar featuring displays and question-and-answer sessions about these and other important issues.
