By Mary Beth Martin 1 Rappahannock News Staff Writer * “I didn’t move to Rappahannock to be a gentleman farmer,” Bob Anderson &aid.

He was responding to a query as to why he didn’t use just the cost-share program to pay for the labor of the fencing he installed around his pond and streams.

Anderson and his wife, Roberta, put the fence up themselves in 1994.

A waterer, two culverts and fencing cost about $6,000, with the government reimbursing 75 percent of the total cost.

Reimbursements could also |iave included labor costs if he had hired someone else to do the work.
